San Pedro de Atacama is the most popular travel destination in the North. It is an oasis in the heart of the desert, enclosed by salt lakes full of flamingos, steaming geysers and a bizarre moon valley.
Central Region:
The heart of Chile’s cultural life, here the versatility of the Andes has no boundaries: hiking or skiing, or kite surfing along the coast attracts many adventure loving tourist throughout the world. The taste of the renowned Chilean wines at one of the various vineyards, climbing the top of one of the 6000-m-high peaks or visiting the twining houses of Chile’s poet laureate, Pablo Neruda, makes this region one of the best tourist destination.
Lake District:
The Lake Districtis located between the towns of Temucoand Puerto Montt. It is famous for its snow capped active volcanoes, deep blue lakes and quiet forests.
The volcano Villarrica close to the tourist centre Pucon is very easy to climb even for inexperienced mountain climbers. The scenic towns of Puerto Varas and Valdivia, the island Chile also attract travelers.
